Synopsis

A film director living in Athens and teaching film direction at the University of Thessaloniki asks his father to accompany him on a train journey to Thessaloniki on the event of his promotion. A bittersweet father-son story, explores the clash between the old and the new generations, mourning the departed, while welcoming the emerging.

A few words about the director

Born in Athens in 1955, he studied mathematics at Athens University and film at the Stavrakou Film School. From 1976 until 1992 he has worked as an assistant director with many filmmakers, most notably with Pantelis Voulgaris. He has taught in the Film Department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since the department was founded in 2004. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Film Direction in November 2008.

In 2011, he wrote and directed a 13-episode documentary series, “I Met Happy Craftsmen,” which broadcasted on the Greek Television channel ET1. His films have distinguished themselves at festivals internationally.
